José Rivelino
"Tú"
To mark the arrival of his monumental piece "Tú" at the MNA, our Friends of the Museum had the opportunity to visit the studio of Jalisco-born artist José Rivelino Moreno Valle.
Rivelino is a draftsman, painter, and sculptor with more than 20 years of experience in the artistic field. As part of the celebration of the MNA’s 60th anniversary, he presented "Tú", one of his most emblematic works, now installed on the museum’s main esplanade. As the artist himself explains, “the mission of the sculpture is to interact with many cultures and all kinds of people.” Through this piece, he invites us to reflect on equality and how its perception shapes our relationships with others and with our environment.
As part of this celebration, Rivelino welcomed the Friends of the Museum to explore his sculpture and later hosted them at his workshop, where he shared insights into his creative process. During the visit, attendees had the chance to observe closely the tools, materials, and techniques he employs, as well as learn firsthand about the ideas that inspire his work. This unique experience offered our Friends a deeper understanding of Rivelino’s artistic vision.
